Probably you know about only one type of Nadi Astrology. The Nadi system of Indian Astrology has different types :

• Nadi Astrology system based on Divisional Horoscopes

• Nadi Astrology system based on Nakshtras or constellations

• Nadi Astrology system based on Karakatva (significance) of planets

• Nadi Astrology system based on Mantra

• Nadi Astrology system based on Physical Body - specification of feet, thumb impression, shadow

What you have referred as Nadi Leaves falls in the last category. In my personal opinion, the readings obtained from ancient palm leaves provide details about the native with astonishing accuracy..e.g., Name, age, occupation of the native, names of parents and spouse (if the native is married at the time of consultation), number of siblings and their general life condition, landscape of the place of birth and even birth horoscope.

This is undoubtedly not possible to be deciphered from a horoscope with the rules of astrology known to a very highly learned astrologer. This is the reason, out of frustration, people try to label it as some occult or black magic kind of thing..

However, if we observe the output, we can see that all the information, though it is accurate, is pertaining to past. Its to the point of time of consultation. I have observed that future prediction from Nadi readings do not come true to a satisfactory degree.

The accurate revelation of past makes one believe them beyond doubt.. and at the cost of common sense.. At the cost of common sense, because what is so beneficial to know what has happend so far.? You already knew it..It only goes to the advantage of the nadi readers in fetching more money out of client’s purse..!!

It may be important to note here that, there should not be any substance in validating the past by spending hefty amount of money and time. Who doesn’t know one’s own past? This could only be useful when the native doesn’t know the birth details. One can get one’s birth horoscope from the Nadi reading.

I personally feel that the original Nadi may

• not be consisting of any future reading at all because the word 'Nadi' means 'the time of consultation'. So there may not be anything beyond the time of consultation..

• if there was future reading as well, and if there was no mention of any improvement in condition, it is likely that there may not be any mention of remedies, too

• Now who will be ready to pay hefty fees just to know either only past till time of consultation? or that there wont be any improvement in condition?

• So, they suggest two types of remedies..

  • this remedy will be undertaken through the reader him self..

  • and to make it more convincing and reliable, they add another part of the remedy e.g., darshan and pooja at some temples..

• and then they will predict a change, happy change in life. of course after performing the remedies..

• so, it is quite likely that the nadi readers have manipulated the future part and remedies so as to generate Hope in the heart of the client and gain handsome amount as Dakshina..

• I have observed that the so called Guruji (Chief of the Nadi reading center) has no time to be present at the place of Nadi reading.. how can we believe that the same Guruji will have time to perform certain ritualistic pooja daily for a couple of months on behalf of the client.. and remember, the nadi consultation centers are generally House-full...

So, yes Nadi Astrology is a wonder of Indian Ancient Seers that has, unfortunately, been passed into questionable hands. Even when it has been tempered with vested interests, it still vouches the glory of divine knowledge to the tune that it provides very accurate information about the native to the point of time of consultation.
